travelling with a dog London-Zurich

Hi,

Trying to find out if I can travel with a dog from London to Zurich HB - it is a medium size dog (Toy Poodle), and I'm happy to pay the half fare, but cant find out if I need to get a container, or if she can travel with me on a leash, etc. Anyone can help? I can find information on UK and Swiss rules, but not the end to end trip.

Thanks!

Hello @pablo2276

Thank you for your enquiry.

You have the option to travel from London to Zurich via France or Germany. Depending on the route, the entry requirements and required vaccinations for your dog may change. You can obtain information from the veterinarian and the relevant embassies. You can also find useful information at the following address: www.blv.admin.ch

Dogs must be accompanied and pay half the normal 2nd class fare. No seats are reserved or surcharges applied for dogs and small animals. Dogs are subject to the general leash and muzzle requirement. Animals (except service dogs) are not permitted in dining cars. They are allowed in carriages with food on the seat.

For your train journeys within Switzerland, you will find all the important information at sbb.ch/hund

I wish you a relaxing Sunday.

Kind regards, ZoeS
