international traveller, which pass to buy

Hello

My family of 2 adults & 2 youths are travelling in Dec 2022, extending to 1 Jan 2023. I was looking at a SwissPass for 15 days for each of us.

However, we are only travelling on a train for 6 days out of 11 days in Switzerland. Is this the most cost effective way?

Included in our trip will be a trip from Zurich to St. Moritz & St. Moritz to Mendrisio. Will a SwissPass cover the part of this trip on the Glacier Express? Or do I need another ticket for the Glacier Express. Or is there another train that will take us on this route that is covered by the SwissPass?

I understand the timetable for December is not available yet, so I am hoping the connections aren't too long.

Is this the best forum to ask these questions?

Thanks

Hi @AusTraveller

Thank you for your request.

The timetable change this year is on 11 December.

There is a Swiss Travel Pass Flex and the Swiss Travel Pass Flex Youth for 6 days, I think this is the most economic option. If the children are under 16, I recommend you the Swiss Family Card (children travel free of charge). This pass is valid for the Glacier Express, but you have to pay the supplement required. The Glacier Express runs from Zermatt to St. Moritz. The Bernina Express runs between Chur and Tirano, the Swiss Travel Pass is valid but for this train the supplement is also required.

My colleagues will be able to inform you.

I wish you a nice Sunday.
