Hi, I am coming to Switzerland for 4 days and want to get a pass for just one day as I'll be travelling that day. I can see that I can either get a swisspass for about 55 chf with a half fare or one for about 95 without- I've never been to Switzerland before so am a bit confused as to if I am able to get the swisspass with half fare or if I need to already have separately bought the half fare card? Thanks!

Hello @maiaburton

Thank you very much for your question.

You may purchase a ticket (or a day pass) for half the price if you are a holder of the Swiss Half Fare Card: Swiss Half Fare Card – Switzerland at half the price | SBB

This travelcard is CHF 120.00 and is valid one month.

I wish you a nice day.

Hello Eleonora, I hope everything is good today. Could you please guide me how to purchase the Swiss 1/2 Fare card from the SBB app? I am able to buy train tickets but I cannot find a way to do it via the app.
I tried to buy it on the webpage as well, but I'm getting an error message with the card. (I find this weird since I was able to buy every ticket from the app and I already checked with my bank it's activated/authorized for online purchases and with money in the account)

Thanks a lot!

Have a nice day.

Hello @loulopez83

It is not possible to purchase travelcards over the SBB Mobile application. Please use the link above.

Does your credit card use «3-D Secure Code» as a security element? If so, a page will appear during the payment process requesting identification (password, SMS, fingerprint, Face ID or Transactions App). This will clearly identify you as the cardholder. If this service is not offered by your credit card company, the card will automatically be rejected on our website. We cannot determine the exact reason why your credit card was declined.

If it is not possible to use your payment card for bookings on SBB.ch. We recommend that you use a different payment card or that you purchase your tickets at any railway station ticket office after your arrival in Switzerland. The Swiss Half Fare Card can be used immediately.

I wish you an unforgettable time in Switzerland
