Travel pass or flex pass ?

ARao
New Author

We intend to spend 16 days in Switzerland and will be visiting Zurich, Montraux, Grindelwald, Lucerne, Lugano and Zermatt. Since we are not travelling between these destinations every day, but will end up visiting nearby sites eg Jungfrau, Rigis etc.. would you think it makes more sense for us to buy an 8 day flex pass or a 15 day travel pass ? We are a family of 4 incl two children aged 12 and 15

Hi ARao

The choice of your ticket depends on several factors (duration of your stay, the detailed routes and how often you expect to use Swiss public transport).

I recommend you to calculate the price of individual tickets for each journey in the Ticket Shop: https://www.sbb.ch/en/ticketshop/b2c/adw.do?125

You will receive a summary of all price categories. This makes it easy to compare the fares with the offers of our Swiss Travel System.

Please note that not all train, boat and bus routes are included in the Swiss Travel Pass. For some journeys you will have to purchase additional (reduced) tickets
