Ticket options for 1 day journey with return

Hello everyone,

I will have a short trip in Swiss soon.
i would like to make 1 day trip by train (with return option)
I taking look, then you have so many options for tickets - but unfortunately most of them is especialy suitable for locals.
Someone could me propose interesting (from economical point of view) offer of tickets?
I am going to start from St Gallen, and then finish in Zermatt ( around 4-5 hours journey as i see), and then come back in the evening (this same day). From my calculating resulted, that i should prepare around 200-300chf for one trip with return? Or maybe am i wrong?
If it's true, maybe i should consider use of car (include car train?) 🙂
