Swiss Travel Pass

SOLVED

If I have purchased a Swiss Travel Pass, do I need to book tickets online prior to the trips? Or can I directly get on a train? (travelling between Bern and Zermatt for example) Do I have any additional fees or tickets to buy ?

Hallo @YuhoLee

If you have a Swiss Travel Pass you don't need additional tickets. You only have to print your Swiss Travel Pass out and show it in the Train.

I wish you a nice time in Switzerland.

Kind regards.

I will plan to buy Swiss Travel Pass, however the weather conditions are estimated so terrible on my trip date (between 26-30 January) In this case, if my flight cancels, ı would like to cancel pass and refund my money. But as ı have read that is not possible if you buy via internet, is it right? I would like make reservation to the Bernina express, due to that i want to but travel pass. Is it possible to make reservation before we buy STP or do we need STP code or something like this when we are making reservation? (firstly I will make reservation to Bernina express with chosen Swiss Travel Pass, but ı once don't buy Swiss Travel Pass, then if ı come to Switzerland, i will buy Swiss Travel Pass)

My travel companions and I will purchase a 3-day Swiss Travel Pass Flex while we are in Canada. We will be leaving Chamonix-Mont-Blanc to travel to Zermatt. Given the Travel Pass only applies to the Swiss rail system, what is the best and cheapest way to complete this trip? I am thinking we need to purchase a separate fare from Chamonix-Mont-Blanc to the nearest Swiss rail station that is on a connection line to Zermatt (via Martigny perhaps). Any suggestions/recommendations are much appreciated.

Also, is it possible to reserve seats ahead of time when using the Travel Pass Flex? For example, travelling from Chamonix-Mont-Blanc to Zermatt it would be nice to know that we can make all our connections ahead of time. If yes, must we use the app or the website? Thank you very much for your help!

Hi, Would appreciate if anyone can guide the best option for us to travel from Zurich Airport to Kanderstag. I am travelling with my sons age 12 and 14. What is the cheapest option available and is it better to purchase in advance. TIA

Dear @Sameera

I think I have just answered one of your questions here.

For this trip, I advise our Supersaver tickets and the Day Pass Children for your kids. Depending on the number of days you stay and travel in Switzerland, the Swiss Travel System offer (Swiss Travel Pass) may be more interesting for you.

Have a nice day.
