Saver Day PASS

I plan to have a day trip start from luzern to interlaken and surrounding area on 28.3.2019, i checked from sbb apps the saver day pass cost 49chf. Will this day pass cover all of the local train for me? And will it require to use together with a half fare card? I have such concern after watched the comment in this community from a us visitor.
