How to use a modular travelcard when traveling long distances?

JUN
New Author

Hello, recently I bought a Modular Travelcard for Bern, it contains 100 and 101 areas. But I'm not sure how to buy a ticket for a long trip. Sorry, this confuses me a bit.

For example, I'm going from Bern train station to Zermatt, which is partly in two of my areas, so where should I start to pay for my ticket?

Besides, is it cheaper if I buy another half-price ticket?

I look forward to answering in detail, thank you very much!

Hello @JUN

With the modular travelcard you can travel within Bern for free in the zones 100 and 101. The subscription is always valid until the last stop included in the purchased zones. In that case: Next stop from Bern in direction Visp is Thun, where your modular travelcard isn't valid anymore. In that case you have to buy a ticket directly from Bern to Zermatt.

For further informations you can contact our contact center by calling the number 0848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/Min.).

Thank you for your understanding and have a nice day.

Kind regards, VlaznimA.

Thanks for your patient answer, it is very helpful to me!
