Hi, and thanks in advance for your help. My wife and I are traveling to Switzerland soon and I'm still confused about the Saver Day Pass because some printed and online information says that the Half-fare is required to get the lower fare (i.e., $29 on many routes). However, when I search for actual costs of routes on the SBB app, many of the prices pop up at the $29 rate with a statement that this fare is "Available for 1st and 2nd class for customers with or without Half-fare travelcard" - so I am confused. For example, I searched for Lucerne to Bern on 6 March 2019 and the Saver Day Pass rate for 9 a.m. departure was $29. The same is true for Lucerne to Rigi Kaltbad. The answer to this question is crucial to me because if the lower rates are accurate then I don't need to purchase a Swiss Travel Pass, but if the lower rates are only valid with the Half-fare Card, then I would be better off with a Swiss Travel Pass. So, in summary, my question is whether the lower rate that pops up on the SBB app is accurate or whether we would still be required to have Half-fare cards to get that lower rate? Thanks very much.
