Hi @Sharon  Beware, the seat reservation is quite expensive even with a Saver Day Pass. This explains the high ticket cost displayed on the GEX website. In order to buy the seat reservation, choose "GA" or "Swiss Travel Pass" from the field "Reductions". What concerns the area of validity, there is no difference. However, to buy the Day Pass for Halbtax ine most possess the Half Fare Card (Halbtax). The pass has a fixed cost of CHF 75 and does never sell out. The Saver Day Pass is available with or without (Swiss) Half Fare Card, the number of available passes per day is limited and can sell out; plus, the cost for the pass rises the higher the demand. Hi @Lbruett  This is all correct. And no, the e-mail is not valid for travel, as mentioned. Go to the www.activateyourpass.com website and enter the dates you want to use your pass. The fare indicated by default is the starting price of fares. You must be in the possession of the Swiss Half Fare Card (1/2) in order to buy tickets as low as indicated. The second price is full fare (1/1) which applies if you do not have the Swiss Half Fare Card. Hi @yangbai  The Schnupper Halbtax can be changed into a regular Half Fare Card provided it is renewed seamlessly. The already paid amount is taken into consideration at renewal. @SB4  May I ask what kind of 2nd class ticket do you have and which you would like to combine with a class upgrade? Is it a point-to-point or a day pass or a travel pass? Do you have the Half Fare Card in addition?  The point-to-point class upgrade is only valid on the specified route, as indicated on the ticket. If your class upgrade reads Geneva-Wengen VIA Bern-Spiez-Interlaken Ost, you can change trains along the way where ever you want, say either Bern or Spiez. But, the upgrade would not be valid via Montreux-Zweisimmen-Spiez. A combination of Super Saver tickets and Super Saver Class Upgrades isn't possible, either. If you allow a comment concerning your trip: check the routing via Montreux-Zweisimmen-Spiez, the so called "Golden Pass Panoramic Express". A very scenic train line, well worth to be travelled. Hi @eli3  The Saver Day Pass is valid as far as Wengen only. See the map below. From Wengen you'd need to buy a ticket at half fare given you are holding the (Swiss) Half Fare Card. Supersaver tickets are not available for touristic trains. It is a fact that Jungfraujoch is a very pricey mountain trip. Alternatively, check for the Top of Europe pass if you stay multiple days in the area. It is advisable to buy the tickets at the day of travel only, if you can be certain that the weather will be good. On a rainy day there is zero point in going to Jungfraujoch. Hi @Jsr07  Do you mean a Swiss Half Fare Card? You do not need such a card, but it entitles you to buy tickets at reduced fare. Did you notice that the prices indicated are half fare by default? In order to buy a full fare you must select a full fare (1/1). Where do you travel to and what was the ticket fare?  ... Mehr anzeigen

Hi Adrian90 No, as the ticket via Bern is more expensive, the fare difference is +CHF 18.00, full fare. You are welcome to alter your ticket at the SBB travel centre at Zurich Airport to buy there a so called "change of route".  However, the route via Luzern-Brünig-Interlaken Ost is extremely scenic and well worth to be explored, should you be interested in panoramic views. ... I do understand your concerns. However, there is no reason to be concerned. You probably misinterpreted the information. The train services I suggested are not cancelled. They will run and simply bypass the construction site, the timetable has been adapted accordingly. Had the train been cancelled you would have seen a red X. IC8 and IC1 are major train lines in our country, kind of the lifeblood of the train network, they will not be cancelled whenever possible, or as "ultima ratio". ... Mehr anzeigen

Hi! Please note: in Switzerland, train tickets never include neither a seat reservation nor a guaranteed seat. All you pay is for the transportation from A to B to C. In Switzerland, trains are mass transit like suburban trains elsewhere: you buy a ticket, you get on the next train and take a free seat. In the unlikely event the train is fully booked, you might have to stand in the aisle or on platforms.  If you travel to Lugano on a weekend, especially in the morning or late afternoon, I strongly suggest to make seat reservations in addition to your ticket. Zurich to Lugano v.v. is very busy at Friday evenings as well as Sat/Sun mornings and evenings. Without a seat reservation you risk to be left behind because trains from Zurich to Lugano v.v.  can have a limited number of passengers standing in the aisles and on platforms this due to safety reasons as the train will pass world's longest tunnel (Gotthard Base Tunnel). ...
