Arrive relaxed: three tips for a relaxing journey (even in hectic times)

Community Manager

Around public holidays, a lot of people travel by train. These three simple tips together with our services will help you start your journey relaxed and stress-free so you can arrive with peace of mind.

1) Check the occupancy forecast and train formation

a) Check the occupancy forecast of trains before you set off. Simply select your connection on SBB Mobile or and look for the occupancy. If the occupancy is high, choose a train outside of peak hours and you could also benefit from lower prices with supersaver tickets.

b) Where is the best place for me to stand on the platform? The train formation shows you clearly which coach it is best to board to find a seat. Keep in mind that you can only check the train formation on the day of travel.

2) Get a guaranteed seat

Not sure if there is enough space on the train? Reserve your seat online in advance via or SBB Mobile. For an even more relaxed journey, we recommend making a seat reservation in the dining car. Here you can treat yourself to delicacies from the SBB Restaurant.

3) Use our luggage service

Travelling is more comfortable without luggage. Have your luggage collected from your door and we’ll get it to the address you give us. That way, you can travel relaxed and don’t have to haul heavy luggage.

Seat secured, luggage sent straight to your hotel – a good start to your long weekend, even when lots of people are on the move!

Note: If it’s no longer possible to reserve a seat in the app, you can simply find an additional train in the timetable. SBB provides additional trains on days like these so that you can always travel comfortably.
