using credit card to purchase saver day pass

I tried to purchase a SAVER 1st CLASS DAY PASS, using a MasterCard and a VISA CC, I got the message "transaction was rejected". I contacted the bank for each, they did NOT reject the transaction, it must have been DATATRANS LTD. (SBB agent for credit cards). Using an American Express CC I was able complete the purchase. Since my MasterCard and VISA were issued by USA banks could be the problem. Has anyone had similar problems?

That day there were payment problems on the side of Datatrans. The specialists had cleared the fault and the Shop works again.

Yes, the reply was helpful. But why did AMERICAN EXPRESS work, but not Visa or Masrtercard?
