The question regarding an online SBB ticket?

New Author

Hello, we have purchased an online ticket using a mobile device from Spiez to Interlaken. We did not use the app (although in hindsight probably should have) to purchase this ticket. We do not have access to a printer but received a PDF file containing our ticket with a QR code. Will this be sufficient to show the ticket inspector on our mobile device? We cannot get the ticket to transfer onto the app either. We have tried using the app to scan the QR code but that will not work.

I feel like the PDF file should be enough, however some of the rules are making us second guess whether or not a physical paper copy is required. Thanks!

Hello @FelixCaleb

Thank you for your question.

A PDF ticket must always be printed out. If the journey is in the future, you can ask a refund of this ticket (email: and purchase a new one in the app. Please include in the mail the order number of the new ticket.

Kind regards and happy new Year.
