SBB travel pass or Swiss half fare card?

Hey!

My family and I are going to be traveling to Switzerland for 8 days. We plan on travelling completely by public transport, and use the trains as much as possible.

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 minors and are wondering, what would be more affordable? The SBB travel pass or the Swiss half pass? We are going to be staying at Interlaken, and travel around the country from there.

Also is it advisable to learn basic German?

Price information within Switzerland is available in the Ticket Shop on:
- www.sbb.ch/en/ticketshop/b2c/adw.do?125
- Select date and required journey
- click on "next"

You will receive a summary of all price categories. This  makes it easy to compare the fares with the offers of our Swiss Travel System. Please note, that super saver fares are available again from 8.6.2020 (there is a restriction because of the current situation).

In tourist areas you can easily communicate in English. But we're always pleased if someone tries to speak in our local language 😉
