Cheapest way to travel as a family

Hello,

I would be very grateful for advice that anyone can give me. We plan to travel to Switzerland from the UK in August. We will need to travel on 3 different days. The journeys are as follows:

1. Zurich airport to Engelberg

2. Engelberg to Weggis

3. Weggis to Zurich airport

We are 2 adults and 2 children aged 12 and 14 years.

For my husband and I it looks as though it is cheaper to buy individual tickets rather than using the Swiss Travel System 3 day pass. I don't understand whether the Swiss Family Card is available for the children to travel free if we buy individual tickets but think they would be free if we used the Travel System pass.  Does anyone know what the best solution is for us please?

Thank you in advance.
