Can a return journey include a stopover?

We want to travel from Paris to St Moritz. On the outward journey we want to stopover in Zurich and continue the following day. We don't need to stop over on the return leg. Is this possible with a normal return ticket? All help greatly appreciated.

In this case you need three separate tickets:

Day 1: Paris to Zürich 

Day 2: Zürich to St Moritz

Day 3 (or any day later on): St Moritz to Paris.
