SwissPass and passport information enquiry

I currently have a valid passport to purchase SwissPass ticket. However, I will be getting my new passport in April 2019 which is quite near to my travel date to Switzerland. Is it possible for me to purchase the ticket with my current valid passport and bring along this passport (plus my new passport) when I depart to Switzerland for verification?

Which ticket do you want to buy? A SwissPass (https://www.sbb.ch/en/travelcards-and-tickets/railpasses/swisspass.html) or a Swiss Travel Pass? If you want to buy the Swiss Travel Pass, you must mention the ID number on it, so it is better to wait for the new passport. You can then buy online: (https://www.sbb.ch/en/leisure-holidays/travel-in-switzerland/international-guests/swiss-travel-pass....).
