Zurich Flughaven to St.Anton am Arlberg

SOLVED

Hi, I plan to buy the 2nd class fare on the 8:15am train departing Zurich Flughaven (via Zurich HB) then direct fast train departing 8:40am to St. Anton am Arlberg for this coming Sunday 2 April. If my plane is delayed, can I use that same ticket to catch the next train for the same route departing 10:15am or do I need to go to SBB ticket office at Zurich Airport to pay for a change to my ticket?

Hello @WadedJ ,

If you have the "standard/regular fare ticket" booked on the 8:15am train and you miss that train you can  just get into the 10:15am train (same route) , this is correct.

This are the conditions:

Individual ticket

  • Ticket for a single or return journey
  • Duration of validity: valid on selected day

By the way this conditions are also written on your international tickets.

And yes if you have a seat reservation for 8:15 am you must go on the train that goes at 8:15 am so that the seat is valid.

I wish you a nice day

Kind Regards @MelanieD

Hi RolandP,

Thank you for taking the time to reply. We are scheduled to land at 7:35am (from Frankfurt) and the train leaves Zurich Airport at 8:15am so it will be tight! How do I know if it is a regular fare ticket? I am paying Euro60 for an adult single one way ticket. It says "standard offer" so that sounds like it is the "regular fare (and not saver). And then it asks me to pay Euro5 to reserve a seat. Maybe I should rather not reserve a seat because if I need to go on the later train then I lose the seat reservation fare - right? Lastly, if I have the "standard/regular fare ticket" booked on the 8:15am train and I miss that train can I just get onto the 10:15am train (same route) with the same ticket or must I go to the ticket office in the airport and change my ticket to the 10:15am train?

Thank you @MelanieD - that is now very clear to me!

Hello @WadedJ

Yes, this is possible provided your ticket is a regular fare ticket (no saver fare). The rebooking & cancellation conditions are displayed during the booking process.

You will require approx. 30 minutes to get off the plain and to arrive at the airport train station.

Have a good trip,

Roland
