UK FIP (discount card) For Switzerland

MartyMart

I am travelling to Switzerland and I hold a FIP card which allows me discount on SP, BLS and SBB services.  However, I am very confused what I can and cannot get discount on.

I have an itinerary which goes as follows:

Train from Zurich Airport - Zurich Town
Train from Zurich Town - Lucerne
Boat From Lucerne - Vitznau
Rigi Kulm Cogwheel Station - Ride to the top
Cable Car to Weggis
Boat back to Lucerne

Train from Lucerne - Schwyz
Bus from Zentrum - Stoosbahn
Funicular - Stoos
Klingenstock Chairlift
Train from Lucerne - Interlaken
Bus at Brunig Hasliberg to Interlaken Ost
Funicular Interlaken Ost - Harder Kulm
Train from Interlaken Ost - Lauterbrunnen
Train from Lauterbrunnen - Grindelward

Grindelward First
Cable Car

Train from Grindelward - Zermatt
Train from Zermatt - Gornergrat

Train from Zermatt- Glacier Express

I have listed it in the order we would travel from start to finish. I believe there is some changes in there but this is not relevant currently.

I would appreciate any help on finding out what my pass allows me to get travel on whether free or discounted.

Consult the Staff Travel Website that RDG maintains but, in Switzerland, many private railways are members of a Swiss Private Railway grouping and accept FIP discounts (code SP on the back on the card), but this doesn't include buses, cable cars, funiculars, lifts and the like.  I think the Rigibahn does accept FIP on the railways but not on cable cars.  The Jungfrau Region Railways (JB) similarly, so OK to Grindelwald/Lauterbrunnen but not to Harder Kulm or First.  No validity on the Stoosbahn. So FIP will be valid on most of the itinerary but not all.  On the Glacier Express,NB a supplement must be paid in addition to the half price rail fare.  There are other, ordinary trains, with no supplement, that operate on the same route.

Hello @MartyMart

Thank you for your request.

I do not know the exact map of validity of your FIP from the UK. Please contact the publisher. You can find the GA validity report here: sbb.ch/travelcards
I assume that your FIP is valid on almost all trains. The Panorama trains and individual private railways (also marked on the area of validity) are special and probably without discount.

Have a nice day. Greetings ZoeS
