Swiss Travel pass for days

SOLVED

Hi, We are 2 adults and children (11 and 5 years ) travelling for 7 days. Swiss passes are available for 6 and 8 days. Is it recomended to buy for 6days pass and manage 7th day on PAYG or buy half fare card and buy tickets on the go. Please suggest what type of pass is recomended ? Does 6 days pass cover any other trips along with Train and Bus ?

Thanks

Nagendra

Hi @nsolankala

If you and your family will not be crossing the country multiple times in long tourist trips in each one of these 7 days, than it is actually better to buy a Swiss Travel Pass Flex and just activate it, when you really need it.

For shorter trips, for exemple within the same city, it is maybe better to buy single tickets, because the 5-year-old child can travel for free anyway and for the 11-year-old child you always pay only half price or you can buy a children's day pass.

Thank you EllenvS. I looked at options to buy online at SBB.CH and switzerlandtravelcentre.com both are showing the same price in CHF 712 for 6 days standard pass. And https://www.swiss-pass.ch/ is showing the equivalent price £600 in GBP. Are these websites are partners of SBB and if so I can buy and print tickets at home ( I prefer in GBP to avoid exchange charges ).  Not sure how convenient and if I get the pass for same price at Zurich Airport after arrivals.

Thanks
