Swiss Pass and Half Fare Card for a student coming abroad

Hi,

I would love to buy the half fare travelcard for my 5 month stay in Switzerland. The problem is that my flight from Finland will arrive in Zürich in the evening when the SBB service desk is already closed for the day. Is it possible to purchase the half fare travel card before arrival? I already registered to My Swiss Pass and downloaded the SBB Mobile. Do you think I could receive the travelcard in a few weeks by postal mail to Finland? Or is it enough to purchase it and immediately store it to my SBB Mobile? Or is there some other place in the airport that I could purchase the Half Fare travel card?

I'm about to travel to Fribourg soon. The aim of my trip is Nuclear Science and Engineering research internship at the University of Fribourg. Can I receive a 25% discount with the Swiss Half-Fare Card? How can I make sure it is set to cancel after 12 months?

The Half-Fare travelcard offers you a 50% discount on tickets. However, the Half-Fare travelcard does not offer a discount on route passes. You can obtain the Half-Fare travelcard for 1 year (https://www.sbb.ch/en/travelcards-and-tickets/railpasses/half-fare-travelcard.html) and cancel the subscription directly, so it won’t be renewed after 1 year.
