SOLVED

After purchase of Saver Day pass do I need to make reservations on a train separately or can I just board any train and sit in the open seat?  I'm not clear what needs to be done after purchase of the Saver Day pass.  Thanks.

Hello @SM2

The Saver Day Pass is your ticket. You can use public transportation for free within the SDP's area of validity. See the map here: https://www.mystsnet.com/areaofvaliditymap2023

Swiss trains use a free seating system, unless otherwise indicated in the timetable, for example for the Glacier Express.

Kind regards,
Roland

Hello,
I am living in USA and planning to visit Switzerland in August. I have been to Switzerland before with Swiss travel pass for 1-2 weeks.

This time I am only in Geneva / Montreux / Gruyeres area for 2 days. I am looking at options but It is confusing for me.

My question is should I just buy three-day Swiss travel pass which is 232 CHF or should I just get saver day pass for individual days Which is 52 CHF? Is Saver Day pass is available for Tourist? And can I buy two days separate Save day pass ? Please let me know. Or Any other suggestion you have.

Or there any other options like regional pass which is good for my itinerary.

Thank you

Rakesh

Hello @drrakeshmm

Saver Tickets are also for Tourist. I would recommend you to check how much you need to pay for each journey and then check what it's cheaper. The Saver Day Passes are not everyday the same price and you have to buy it in advance. We have also saver tickets only for the route but then you need to catch the train that you choose.

Greetings, AuroraD.
