Is it possible to go up to the Jungfraujoch with Easyride? (and other locations where GA gives only a discount)

Hello @Anjo

Sorry for the 1. link. Seems like @SandrineS tried to post the direct download link of the PDF, but it's not working.

Here you'll find the GA area of validity. Just scroll down and you'll see the PDF attachment unter the option "Downloads".

Greetings, VlaznimA.

Hello @Anjo

EasyRide can be used on the entire GA route network in Switzerland, including boats.

I wish you a nice day.

Hi @SandrineS

Thanks for the answer. Can you tell me what exactly is understood as "entire GA route network" ?

Is the "Wengen/Grindenwald - Jungfrauhoch" included in the GA route network, even though one has to pay half-price?

This is for me not clear, and per consequent if EasyRide can be used on that area.

Cheers

Hi @VlaznimA ,

I'm sorry but your answer is not yet satisfying to me.

Can you tell me what exactly is understood as "entire GA route network" and "GA area of validity" ?

Is the "Wengen/Grindenwald - Jungfrauhoch" included in the GA route network, even though one has to pay half-price?

And the original question: Can I use EasyRide until the Jungfraujoch?

Cheers

Hello @Anjo

The GA route network and GA area of validity is the same. Again, you'll find it on sbb.ch under Downloads "GA area of validity". Soon as you open it, you also see the information of the reductions with GA on the swiss routes, etc. On the Jungfraubahnen you'll receive 50% with a GA travelcard. Further infos on the PDF on our website.

EasyRide is only valid until Wengen or Grindelwald. To continue the travel from Wengen/Grindelwald you have to purchase an extra ticket to Jungfraujoch. You can buy the ticket online on sbb.ch, the mobile app or directly on the vending counter in Wengen/Grindelwald. Further information, you'll receive here, on www.jungfraubahnen.ch or call our Contact Center +41 (0)848 44 66 88.

Regards, VlaznimA.

Hi @VlaznimA

Thanks for the quick answer and clarification.

I believe there is some confusion. Easyride is itself a ticket, valid in the "GA area of validity".

When using GA, as you say, I've to buy an extra ticket from Wengen/Grindenwald. This is clear for me.

But when using Easyride, are you sure I need to buy an extra ticket? Is not the Easyride enough? Here is where I'm looking to be sure.

The same thing on the map from "GA area of validity" where the black lines show "no reduction". Are these lines part of the "area of validity" where I can use Easyride, or not?

Cheers,
Miguel Anjo

Hello @Anjo

You have already received all the correct information from my colleagues. EasyRide is not valid on the mentioned route. It is mandatory to buy a separate additional ticket. Please check the area of validity of the general abonnement for further travels.

Kind regards,
FatimaH

Hi @FatimaH ,

The answer marked as "solution" does not answer to my question.

The second answer from @VlaznimA is indeed correct.

What is missing is:
- Easride is only works where GA is 100% valid.
- Easyride does not work where GA only entitles to a reduction.

Fairtiq has the clear answer of all (which could be added to the Easyride FAQ): https://support.fairtiq.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002340119-Mountain-Transport-CH-
