Is it possible to buy a train and bike ticket at the day of travelling?

This summer I go on cycling holiday in Switserland. I prefer not to make a train reservation at the end of the trip so I am flexible in my planning. Is it possible to by a ticket for myself and my bike at the day I would like to travel by train? Or do I need to make a reservation in advance because of a limited amount of space for taking my bike into the train?
Kind regards!

For yourself you do not need a reservation. In Switzerland, there is so far only a mandatory reservation for bicycles on InterCity trains (and some international trains).
However, if you disassemble your bike and take it with you in a bag, you can avoid the regulation - then it counts as luggage.
Otherwise, you must reserve for bikes on ICs or plan your trip with lower-class trains.
