Hello and welcome to the SBB Community. What would you like to do?
Hi, I am planning to visit some cities in Switzerland by using SBB.
I think "Saver Day Pass" allows me to take any trains without any other ticket. Is it correct ?( For example, from Basel to Zurich or Bern by IC)
And I am not a citizen in Switzerland nor other European country. Can I buy and use "Saver Day Pass" ?
Or this pass has specific restricts?
Thank you.
Hey @16ya
Yes, you can use the Saver Day Pass (without Half-Fare travelcard). The Map of validity you can check out here: https://www.sbb.ch/content/dam/sbb/de/pdf/abos-billette/abonnemente/ga/karte-geltungsbereich-ga-halb... The citizenship doesn't matter.

I have the same question as you.

Hi @Amr
Thank you for your request.
You don't need to go at the station before departure. The ticket must be presented on the train during the check. Concerning the reservation of places, it is possible either on the application SBB Mobile or online under https://www.sbb.ch/en/travelcards-and-tickets/tickets-for-switzerland/seat-reservations.html.
I wish you a beautiful day.

Hi Kilian,
Can you purchase a Saver Day Pass even if you don't have the GA Travelcard? I'm confused with this info: "Valid for one person in the GA travelcard area of validity."
Thank you in advance!
Hi @iamnaaim
Thank you for your request.
It is not necessary to reserve a place on the train (If the reservation is required, it is mentioned in the timetable).
You can go directly up and present your ticket to the controller. If you want a place, you can reserve it by using the following link: https://www.sbb.ch/en/travelcards-and-tickets/tickets-for-switzerland/seat-reservations.html
Best regards

Hi @Erial
No, you don't have to be holder of a GA travelcard.
The saver day pass is available for passengers with Half-Fare travelcards or without any reduction. The pass is valid for the same area of validity as for the GA travelcard.
Kind regards

Hi, and thanks in advance for your help.
My wife and I are traveling to Switzerland soon and I'm still confused about the Saver Day Pass because some printed and online information says that the Half-fare is required to get the lower fare (i.e., $29 on many routes). However, when I search for actual costs of routes on the SBB app, many of the prices pop up at the $29 rate with a statement that this fare is "Available for 1st and 2nd class for customers with or without Half-fare travelcard" - so I am confused. For example, I searched for Lucerne to Bern on 6 March 2019 and the Saver Day Pass rate for 9 a.m. departure was $29. The same is true for Lucerne to Rigi Kaltbad. The answer to this question is crucial to me because if the lower rates are accurate then I don't need to purchase a Swiss Travel Pass, but if the lower rates are only valid with the Half-fare Card, then I would be better off with a Swiss Travel Pass.
So, in summary, my question is whether the lower rate that pops up on the SBB app is accurate or whether we would still be required to have Half-fare cards to get that lower rate? Thanks very much.
Greetings. I am still looking for a definitive answer to this question. I posted a similar question that was answered, but the answer simply said that half-fare cards are available with or without the discount and to look at the prices. But my confusion is that the price that comes up when I search on the app seems to be the lower price, and yet it says that this is available with or without the half-fare card. One example I gave was Lucerne to Bern for $29 for Saver Day Pass, I am trying to find out a definite answer as to whether the SBB price for the Saver Day Pass is correct in the app or that the lower price assumes that I have a half-fare card. I know there have been other people confused about this same Issue, so I really hope to have this clarified. Thanks very much for your help.
