HALF-FARE FOR FOREIGN VISITOR

FernandoSaucedo
New Author

I will travel to Switzerland in few weeks. I bought a Swiss half-fare  card for foreign tourists online. Since I was not being able to buy tickets in the routes I wanted on www.happyrail.com, I went ahead to the SBB web site and bought already two tickets using the half-fare option.  Then I read in an online forum that the SBB is only for Swiss residents, not for foreign tourists...I think I made a big mistake. What can I do? Is the half-fare card for tourists  equivalent to the half-fare for Swiss residents? Will I have to buy new tickets paying the full price? I really don´t want to have problems and pay a fine when my tickets will be controlled. Thank you for your help!

Hello @FernandoSaucedo

The Swiss Half Fare Card for foreign visitor is similar to the Half Fare Card for Swiss residents.

You can travel with your half Fare Card and the tickets with the 50% reduction which you have bought.

I wish you a nice time here in Switzerland.

Kind regards,
