Ga travel card vs Swiss Travel Card

SOLVED

Hello Everyone,

I've moved to Switzerland a few days ago and I will be working in Rolles VD and living in Renens VD.

My plan is taking a bus and then in Rolles take a bus using the "postbus" it's 10 minutes up to my job.

Which type of "swisspass" should I have, a "GA TravelCard" or a "Swiss travel card" and any of these combine train and bus?

Hello @NM1991

thank you very much for your question.

There are different kinds of travelcards.

A GA is a general abonement, valid everywhere in Switzerland: The GA Travelcard on the SwissPass | SBB This is the best option if you travel a lot by train, bus an boat in the whole country.

A modular travelcard is the better solution if you ar taking the train/bus only for your communting: Modular Travelcard: commuting made easy | SBB

Please call our collagues at the SBB Contact Center (0848 44 66 88, CHF 0.08/min) or visit any SBB ticket counter to have a customized answer.

I wish you a nice day!

Kind regards

Are GA cards for anyone or must you be a resident of Switzerland?

Hello @EmmaLaine

The GA is referenced on the SwissPass card. An address in Switzerland must be provided for the Swisspass card to be sent.
If you are a tourist, this is not a good option for you. We have special offers for tourists. These are all available as e-tickets (without the red SwissPass card).

You can find all offers here: sbb.ch/leisure-holidays

Have a nice day. Greetings ZoeS
