First time purchase - Swiss Pass

I’m waiting for my Swiss Pass to be delivered by post. Will I receive an email notification when the card is dispatched? I note the delivery time is 10 days. Is it counting from date of purchase or date of first validity? I will travel to Switzerland on 28 April and I choose that date as date of first validity. Will it be an issue using my physical Swiss pass?
