Do I need a new ticket if I missed connection due to delay?

I have just been announced that my train will probably have 18 min delay, and I'll most probably miss my connection (being left with only two minutes).

In this case, do I need to purchase a new ticket to reach my final destination, or can I use the old ticket I hold?

For urgent queries, we recommend you to call us under the following telephone number: +41 (0)848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/min.) or go to a SBB ticket counter.  If the ticket is valid only for this train, a new ticket must be purchased.
