Hello @KellanCarson
Thank you for your question.
There are different options, depending on how often you use public transportation both between those two cities and in general, and depending on your priorities when travelling.
A GA would allow you to travel everywhere in Switzerland at any time, without having to buy a ticket for each journey. It is really practical, even if you decide to travel spontaneously, with a short notice.

Another option is to buy a Half-Fare Travelcard for CHF 185.00: this travelcard allows you to always buy tickets for half the price, both on long distance and on local public transoprtations networks. Here are more details: https://www.sbb.ch/en/travelcards-and-tickets/railpasses/half-fare-travelcard.html
You could also travel using Saver and Supersaver Tickets or day Passes. Those are only valid on the specific day and or time, and are non-refundable: the advantage is, they cost less than a regular ticket. The amount of Saver and Supersaver Tickets each day is limited: they are not always available with short notice. This could be the best option if you always know in advance when exactly you are going to travel. https://www.sbb.ch/en/travelcards-and-tickets/tickets-for-switzerland/supersaver-tickets.html
For a more detailed consult, I suggest you call our SBB Contact Center, at the number 0848 44 66 88 (CHF 0.08/min) available 24/7.
I wish you a nice day
