When I purchase a swiss pass online...are the tickets instant? Or do I need to do this in advance

Are there any SBB travel centres in Paris Charles De Gaulle airport? Or in of the main Paris stations? Do I need to get my half fare Swiss pass activated before boarding a train? Also I would need a complimentary Family travel card for my 7-year old, so do I get it at any station in Paris?

No, there is no SBB travel center in Paris. 

No, you don't have to validate your Swiss Half Fare Card when purchased as online ticket. It is active from the chosen validity start date. Kindly note, it is a card not a pass, it does not grant free access to the Swiss public transport network.

If you need the complimentary Swiss Family Card, you can get it at the first station in Switzerland when arriving from Paris, being Basel SBB, Geneva, or Lausanne.

Thanks for your reply! I have another query though - 

I want to book Paris to Interlaken via Basel SBB for 2 adults with Swiss half fare card and 1 child with Swiss Family card. When I see the Discount options on SBB website while adding the passengers, it doesn't give an option to select Family card for the child(so that child would travel free fro, Basel to Interlaken). If I take  the No Discount price for the child, even after adding Half fare discount for adults, the child ticket is priced without discount of family card. How do I book for the child with the discount applied as per the Swiss family card?

You can get the Family card at any railway ticket office in Switzerland. I recommend that you pick up the Family card at the counter when you arrive in Basel SBB so that your child can continue the journey to Interlaken free of charge. All information about the family card you can get here.

Are you talking about the Swiss Travel Pass – the All-in-one-Ticket for Switzerland | SBB?

This is instantly issued. You can also get it from the SBB Travel Center at the airport upon arrival.
