Saverday pass validity

Hello, I’m very confused with the time available of Saver Day Pass. What I’m curious is that if I purchase SDP for 31.dec, it is available to take a train departing at 1.Jan. before 5 am. and arrive after 5 am.?
In short, I don’t understand whether the ‘ following day 5 am’ means departing time or arrival time.

Thank you for your request.

The Saver Day Pass are valid on the selected day and expire the next day at 5.00 am (arrival time). If you arrive later, it will no longer be valid.
