Hello and welcome to the SBB Community. What would you like to do?
Hello. We are tourists family of 5 consists of 4 adults and 1 child (15 year old). We tried to purchase the saver day pass on the SBB app but the total amount is weird. It shows that the child price is CHF 44 instead of CHF 19. Should we buy and select separately for the adults and child? Also, is the day pass children works the same like saver day pass? Can we as tourist purchase and use it unlimited for 1 day? We do not have any travel card or others passes. We seek your kind advise please. Thanks.
Hi @NSJ
In Zurich and greater Zurich area, there is the ZVV fare network. This means, you buy a ticket which includes zones. Zurich is zone 110. Within this zone and ticket validity, you can do as many travels you want with any means of transport (train, tram, buses, boats, funiculars).
If you buy a zone 110 return ticket, you will get a 24-hour day pass valid 24 hours in the chosen zones; again, you can do as many journeys you want. For children, you can buy the same ticket at half fare (1/2).
But, you do not have to bother with zones. At the ticket vending machine, you simply choose, Zurich HB to Zurich Manegg. The machine will automatically print the correct zones. A normal ticket is CHF 6.20, the half fare 3.10.
The Saver Day Pass / Children Day Pass is also valid for the public transport in Zurich.
Best regards,
Roland
Thanks Roland! Stay safe and healthy always!
Hi @NSJ
You do not have to buy the Saver Day Pass for the child, yet a Children day pass. Buy the Children Day Pass separately by only selecting the child as traveller from the list of companions. Yes, the Children Day Pass offers exactly the same range of validity as the Saver Day Pass. The Children Day Pass must bear the name and date of birth of the child.
If you are travelling multiple days, the Swiss Half Fare Card coming with a the free Swiss Family Card is the better deal. For one day, the Saver Day Pass is fine. During ticket inspection, all travelers using an Online ticket or Mobile ticket must show an official ID or passport together with the ticket, including the child.
Best regards,
Roland
Dear Roland, thank you for your speedy reply. Noted and we will purchase the tickets for adults and child separately. Quick question, if my hotel is located at Zürich Manegg S4, please suggest travel card/tickets point to point from Zurich HB. Is there tickets for adult and child also? Appreciate and thanks.
