Error code ER 9082

I used the easy ride feature once, and then for whatever reason it has not worked since, and repeatedly gives me the error attached. I have tried removing and re-registering my card, but I cannot get the error to go away, and it's blocking me from using the easy ride feature. 

Oops, you last journey could not be charged. 

Your last journey could not be charged to the selected payment method. Without a valid charge, EasyRide cannot be activated. Please check the stored payment details are up to date or use the usual ticketing process in the app.

It would seem adding a second different card and using that instead seems to work, and now after that success I seem to be able to revert to the original card.
