Do I need the Swiss pass card or can I just use the app?

Hello,

I have a Swiss Pass that is displayed on the SBB app. i have also purchased a 1-year half-fare travel card. Can I just use the Swiss Pass and half fare card on the app or do I also need to have the physical card with me on the train?

Thank you for your request.

You can show either a valid official ID and the SwissPass on your phone or your SwissPass card.
We always recommend carrying the physical SwissPass card with you in case of a technical problem (empty battery…).
