15 day SwissPass purchase timing

SOLVED

I will be traveling to Switzerland from May 27-June 10 2022, however this is part of a longer trip, and I will be leaving the US on April 28 2022.  I plan to purchase a 15 day Swiss Pass.  I believe that I can purchase the pass up to 6 months in advance, but need to make sure my valid from date is May 27 2022.    So far so good?

Will I be getting the red SwissPass card in the mail?  I've downloaded the SBB app, and in order to add a SwissPass to the app, I need my number off the red card.  Do I also need this red card to access local transportation?  If this is the case, then I assume I need to allow plenty of time for this card to be mailed.  Would 1 month be enough time?

If I don't need the red card, then I assume that there is something sent electronically which replaces the card?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Hi @Kathy

You refer to the Swiss Travel Pass for 15 days, which costs between CHF 513.00 and CHF 890.00.

The Swiss Travel Pass was created specially for our international guests who live outside of our surrounding countries. Since this pass can be purchased online as E-ticket, you won't need a red SwissPass.

You can download our app and use it to consult our timetable while traveling with the public transport. You can also create a swisspass account just using a valid e-mail address : SwissPass.ch
A customer number will be also not necessary for that.

More Information can be found here : Swiss Travel Pass

Best wishes. EllenvS.

@EllenvS- Thank you for clarifying.  I have downloaded the app, and it too references the red card, so i was a bit confused.
