Hello and welcome to the SBB Community. What would you like to do?
Hello, I would like to forward my luggage from St. Moritz to Locarno while I travel by bus to some small villages for two days. At this point I'm not sure exactly what type of public transportation pass I will have for my month long trip other than a 15 day Swiss Travel flex pass that I may not be using the days I forward my luggage. (I'll be looking into the local Graubunden Pass.) I definitely plan on using the Ticino Pass while in Locarno and then resuming use of the STP flex when I leave Ticino. Will I need to pay fees other than the 12CHF to forward my luggage?
Thank you for your assistance.
Laura
Hello Laura,
You can send the luggage from station to station. For example, you can check in your luggage today and pick it up the day after tomorrow at the destination station. Per luggage you pay the shipping CHF 12.00 / bike CHF 20.00.
Please note that not every station has a luggage service, you can check it under this link: Station information for luggage, bicycles and special bikes | SBB
Detailed information about the conditions and prices can be found here: Station-to-station luggage | SBB
We are glad that you are on the road with us and wish you a great, eventful trip through Switzerland.
Friendly greetings, StéphanieB

Thanks, Stephanie. Do I also have to have a valid train ticket for that day, or can I just pay to ship the luggage?
Hello @Mountainlover
You need a valid ticket for the leg you want to send your luggage.
I wish you an excellent start into the new week.

Thank you, Rahel, for your reply. May I please ask a few clarifying questions? Our plans were to get tickets for either the Palm Express or a regular bus for that route, stopping in Soglio for a few hours and then resuming the bus ride to Chiavenna where we would overnight. We then were going down the northern coast of Lake Como, stopping overnight in Mennaggio. We planned to get back on the Palm Express in Mennaggio at the appointed time (I understand you need to make reservations) continuing to Locarno via Lugano. (As Italy doesn't offer lockers at their train stations the way the Swiss do, we wished to forward our luggage to our end point of Locarno.) So, am I correct in assuming that our tickets from St. Moritz to Chiavenna, and then Mennaggio to Lugano/Locarno would suffice as our valid tickets even though there would be one day in between where we were using the Italian bus system? One more question. If we are using a Swiss Travel Flex pass, can we use it for the two legs of the journey we've described above or is it best just to purchase those two day's travel separately? Thank you so much for your time and patience in helping me understand this. While I've travelled over a dozen times in Switzerland, always using public transportation, this is the first time we've wanted to forward our luggage.
with kind regards,
Laura
Hello @Mountainlover
Thank you for your query.
To have the luggage shipped, you need a train ticket for the entire train route. It does not matter that you make a stopover and continue the next day.
It is best to buy the ticket directly on the spot, where you also have your luggage shipped.
There is a separate area of validity for the Swiss Travel Pass Flex. I recommend you to consult this, so you know exactly where everywhere the pass is valid: Swiss Travel Pass – the All-in-one-Ticket for Switzerland | SBB
You can find this on the right under "More on the topic".
I wish you a nice day.
Kind regards, AferditaH
Hello, I am sending a late reply as I want to be sure I understand completely. I understand that I pay a small fee to forward my luggage. I understand that I may stop along the way and pick up my luggage in Locarno two days later. My question now is in regards to the train ticket for the entire route that is needed. Does the Swiss Travel Pass cover this if I have an STP that includes the travel dates? Does the Swiss Travel Flex option cover this if one chooses to use those two travel days on the Flex Pass? I apologize for asking so many questions, but given our planned itinerary it's important I understand completely up front. Vielen Dank for your patience with me.
with kind regards, Laura
