Hello and welcome to the SBB Community. What would you like to do?
Hi @flowersui
There’s one point: the railway line between Lausanne and Brig is not yet ready for double-decker-trains. Construction work to accommodate those trains is under way and should be finished by 2018. So that’s one reason, why there’s still “older” rolling stock on this part of Switzerland’s Railway Network. For more details, see http://www.sbb.ch/sbb-konzern/ueber-die-sbb/projekte/ausbau-schienennetz/projekte-romandie-wallis/si... (in German only)
