Hi @perjoh72
Thank you for your question.
If the bicylce is in a bag, it does not need a ticket.
I wish you a pleasant journey with us.

Hi Eleonara,
So if it's in a bag it does not need a ticket, but if it's in a box it does need a ticket? I ask this because I noticed in another post that you said a bike box needs a ticket (https://sbbcffffs-community.sbb.ch/t5/Travelcards-and-tickets/Bike-Box/m-p/47359#M4717)
I need to take a bike which is packed inside a bike box from Zürich Wiedikon to Zürich Airport. The box is quite large and I don't think it would fit on a luggage rack. But it's like taking anything in a large box, e.g. I could have bought a table from Ikea, would I need to buy a ticket for anything that is in a box?
Many thanks for you advice
Hi @rickyshah
Yes, a bicycle in a box needs a ticket.
Best regards,
Roland
Hey @RolandP
Ok great, and can I take the box on a S train at anytime? I will be going to the airport around 6pm, but noticed in the FAQ's that bikes can only travel after 7pm. Although mine will be in a box
