May I catch an earlier train on a return ticket?

Hi, I plan to take the train to St Anton in Austria this weekend. I know I will be taking the first train there, but I don't know exactly what time I wish to return. If I book a 9pm Return train, may I take an earlier, 8pm train if If I get to the station earlier? Or would I have to wait for the booked return train?

Thank you for your request.

It depends on the ticket you buy. The normal fare tickets are valid on the selected and following day. Super Saver Ticket are only valid for trains for which they were booked.

If you reserve the place for 9 p.m. and you leave one hour earlier, the seat reservation is not refunded.
If you are not sure of the time of return, I advise you to take a ticket at the normal price.
