Luggage Transfer

I am travelling from Grindelwald - Alpnachstad on 4th October, staying 2 nights on Mt Pilatus, and then continuing my journey from Alpnachstad on 6th - Luzern - all journeys by train

Would I be allowed to send my luggage from Grindelwald Station to Luzern? (send on the 4th so it arrives on the 6th - the same time as me)

I know you need a train ticket for the same journey - but is it okay to split it like this?

& do I need to pre-book this service or do I just arrive on the morning with my luggage? (It will be station to door)
