IC 81 train type

SOLVED

I usually take IC 8 from Zurich Flughafen to Visp.  The current schedule shows IC 8 alternating with IC 81 (change to IC 6 at Bern) every hour.  Is IC 81 a double-decker train like IC 8?  Thanks

Hi @gsb

Thank you for your request.

As a rule, IC81 trains are double-decker, but there can always be exceptions.

Tipp: open the train on our SBB Mobile app, trains with “FA” are normally double decker. You can also check the composition of the train (see attachment).

I wish you a nice weekend.

Kind regards
NicolasK
