I tried to book a Half Fare card to start seven weeks from now but the system wouldn't allow me.

How far ahead can i book a Half Fare Card? I've just tried to book the card to be effective from 20th June but the system wouldn't accept the booking and couldn't put me through to an agent to reply.

You can buy the Half-Fare travelcard 2 months in advance. You may order your Half Fare travelcard online

A new purchase with foreign mobile number is not possible. In this cas, you have the following options to purchase your Half Fare travelcard:
=> To order by mail, please send the completed order form to the address listed on the order form. Payment possible by credit card or invoice
=> At a staffed SBB counter, payment possible by credit card, EC card, PostFinance Card, Reka Checks, cash or invoice.
Please note that orders with payment by invoice must reach our point of sale at least 10 days before the first day of validity of the travelcard.

If you have en Swiss mobile number; As a new customer, you can order your Half Fare travelcard online at During the ordering process, an identity check takes place. Please have a valid identification document ready (passport or identity card).
