Brig to Venice in end Dec

Hi all, I'm travelling to Venice from Zermatt (hopefully via Brig) in end of Dec. Was advised by some that there is a direct train from Brig, but the only one I found running 7+am is not available.

Any experts know if there will be more trains or am I looking at the schedule too early? Or is there a better (less transfer) way to get to Venice?
