The virtual assistant – the voice of the future?

"Hey Google, ask SBB: when is the next train from Bern to Lucerne?" Timetable information, ticket prices, information on train occupancy rates and any potential delays – you can now get all this information with voice control.

More than 50% of all search queries worldwide will be carried out by voice recognition by the end of 2021, according to recent studies. SBB is now providing a virtual assistant to ensure that we can meet customer needs on voice-controlled communication channels.

SBB’s virtual assistant is based on Google Actions and is available on smart speakers, smart displays and mobile phones (with Google Assistant). So that the dialogue is as natural as possible, we use Natural Language Understanding (NLU) to conduct dialogue with customers. This means that the context of a conversation is taken into account.


From 1 to 3 November 2020, the focus will this year once again be on the digitalisation of our lives. And SBB will be demonstrating its digital innovations of today and tomorrow. More information

Hi everyone!  I will be visiting on the 6th of October for 8 days.  I purchased my first ticket with the incorrect dates since I did not catch that in the beginning, requested a refund and purchased a new one.  I've already spent $1,400.00 USD but should be refunded half of that.  I choice 1st class because I read that seat reservations are recommended and I wanted to be comfortable but now I read that most trains don't take reservations.  I can't figure out how to start booking my train rides either.  I'm beyond confused and frustrated with this site.  If someone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it!  Kris
