How to Identify Point to Point Tickets in timetable

This seems like a super simple question, but I cannot figure out how to just look up the cost of a regular ticket from Zurich airport to Interlaken Ost. The timetable has me select a day and a time. Each time/journey has a different price. I'm wanting to just purchase a point to point ticket for the day. How do I do that without choosing a time? I can't tell if the prices I'm seeing are half off or full price or super saver or what.

Also, I do not yet have a savings card because I need to compare ticket prices before deciding which one to get. I will be traveling with two youth under age 15 from Zurich airport to Wengen. We will spend two days traveling around the Jungfrau area before traveling to Zurich train station.

Should I do a super saver day pass with family card for days 1 and 4 when we travel to/from Zurich and get the 3 day Jungfrau travel pass for one adult and two youth for days 2 and 3? If I have the 3 day Jungfrau pass then it wouldn't cover one of my travel days so would I have to pay full price for the kids to get down to Interlaken on that fourth day if I only have a super saver day pass or would the family card cover getting them down from Wengen?

Or Would I be better off with just the half fare pass and family card (will the kids get any sort of discount on the mountain transportation if I do that)? Or the half fare pass AND the Jungfrau passes for all three of us? Please help me figure this out.

Hi @TR9

Prices for a regular point-to-point journey without a specific train you must take costs around 74 swiss francs for Zurich airport to Interlaken Ost. Or 88.40 swiss francs for Zurich airport to Wengen. Please make sure you choose in the app or online via sbb.ch a "point-to-point-ticket" A supersaver day pass for you only makes sense if the available prices are under 74 swiss francs (see the regular price for the point-to-point-ticket). For your children, I reccomend the "Day Pass Children", see here: https://www.sbb.ch/en/travelcards-and-tickets/tickets-for-switzerland/day-pass/day-pass-children.htm... This costs only 19 swiss francs for each child under 16 years (until 15.99 years).

The jungfrau tavel pass only makes sense, when you plan to make many excursions. For example: The three days pass costs 190 francs, and 2x 30 francs for the children, in total 250 swiss francs. If you want to go to the Jungfraujoch - top of Europe, you need an additional "connecting ticket" for additional 75 swiss francs, total 325 swiss francs, see https://www.jungfrau.ch/en-gb/jungfrau-travel-pass/.
If you book the Jungfraujoch - top of Europe individually, you only pay 254 swiss francs, just simulate it at https://www.jungfrau.ch/en-gb/jungfraujoch-top-of-europe/buy-jungfraujoch-ticket/.

-> It depends, how much mountains you want to explore. If you want to go to another place, you have to calculate if the jungfrau travel pass makes sense for you.

I wish you a nice stay in Switzerland!

Thank you for the response, but HOW do you choose a point to point ticket? It is asking me for from, to, date, and time before it will search. Then it pulls up the timetable with different journeys with times and prices.

Hi @TR9

Yes, you have to indicate some information, e.g. from, to, date, time. When you see the timetable, choose a journey and click the red button, where it says "from XY swiss francs".

If you are on a laptop, perform as follows:

1. Visit https://www.sbb.ch/en/buying/pages/fahrplan/fahrplan.xhtml
2. Enter from, to, date, time and "search for connection"

Pro tip: The trains "IC81" are operated directly between Zurich airport and Interlaken, departing Zurich airport .45, for example 10.45am
3. Press the red "from CHF 34.40"
4. Make sure, the travel options are as follows:
Single journey, 2nd class, full price, point-to-point-ticket

5. Click continue, and enter your personal information and fulfili the payment via credit card or another payment method.
